Samsung unveils LiMo-based Vodafone 360 H1
Samsung Electronics announced it will launch the first LiMo Release 2 adapting handset, the ‘Vodafone 360 H1 by Samsung,’ in eight European countries by Christmas.
LiMo R2 is integrated support for OMTP’s BONDI v1.0 specification, which standardizes a set of device interfaces for web applications and widgets, according to the LiMo Foundation.? The BONDI specification and framework enables developers to use common web authoring tools to create richly featured web applications and widgets that will run across all LiMo R2 handsets that support web runtimes.
“The Vodafone 360 H1 by Samsung delivers an inspiring service and handset combination which illustrates the game-changing results that occur? when a handset platform enables leading operators and vendors to realise their vision of new user experiences with full freedom,” said Morgan Gillis, executive director of the LiMo Foundation.
“As a Founding Member of the LiMo Foundation, Samsung has been highly involved in driving the platform forward,” said JK Shin, head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Division. “The Vodafone 360 H1 by Samsung is our commitment to deliver the quality and richness of the LiMo Platform to consumers worldwide.”
The Vodafone 360 H1 by Samsung comes with a 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED display and a wide range of features, including 720P HD video recording as well as exclusive Vodafone 360 service, which offers a universal contact list and a 3D zoom feature. The multi-touch phone supports more than 400 minutes of talk time on 3G service, and has a 5 megapixel camera, 16GB internal memory and Wi-Fi connectivity.
