Samsung to Invest 484.6 bln won in LCD Line Expansion

Samsung Electronics, the world’s largest maker of liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, said that it will invest 484.6 billion won (US$418 million) to expand its eighth-generation LCD production line.
The company will make the investment in the first half of 2010 to respond to rising demand for LCD televisions and reinforce its competitiveness, it said in a regulatory filing to the Korea Exchange without giving further details.
