Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Q3 net more than quadruples

Samsung Electro-Mechanics, a South Korean electronics parts maker, said Thursday its third-quarter earnings more than quadrupled from a year earlier on rising demand and cost-cutting efforts Net profit reached 123 billion won (US$ 104 million) in the July-September period, compared with a profit of 26.4 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Sales also jumped 30 percent to 1.55 trillion won over the cited period, and operating income more than tripled to 207 billion won, it said.
